Sometimes in this culture of over consumption and mass production, it can be very easy to forget that nearly all clothing, and certainly all lingerie, is handmade by a human being. There is no magic machine that 3D prints the perfect bra (at least not yet!) There is no machine that loads itself with the next garment or sews a perfect stitch without a skilled seamstress/seamster at the helm. This is skilled work, which is all too often not paid as such.

The wonderful pearly fabric is the exact same divine heavy weight satin as our peacock satin range, but it’s a gorgeous rich oyster colour. We’ve made this range in the soft bra, Y strap suspender belt and classic knicker.
Why use an outdated sewing machine on our lingerie, surely, it’s not as good as a modern sewing machine? At Pip & Pantalaimon we made the decision to use original vintage, Swiss made machines that would have been the market leader throughout the 1930’s, 40’s & 50’s and here’s why:
